When most of the country is under the spell of hot weather, it is in Puri that Gods come out in giant and well decked chariots. The annual rath yatra in Puri is a sight to behold. It is the time when thousands jostles to pull the chariots while hundreds of others gather on the sidelines to watch the spectacle.

1) Tarnetar Fair
Tarnetar Fair represents the most awaited day in the life of inhabitants of Tarnetar village in which they flock around the Trineteshwar Temple at Saurashtra. The excitement and happiness of Tarnetar Fair can be seen in the above photo. Tarnetar Fair takes place during the Gujararti Months Bhadarva of Thangadh dedicated to the supreme feat of archery performed by Arjuna and finally won the "Swayamwar". Tarnetar Fair is very exciting festival and motivates you to rejoice in Gujarat folk dance and music. In Tarnetar Fair you will be able to experience free-fall into a wild wind of colors, music and romance around tribal youths looking for perfect life partners. They dress up in gaudy clothes including dhotis, striking turbans, and the use of Tarnetra Chhatirs umbrellas highlighted with exaggerated embroidery and mirror works point towards the bachelor tribal males. Further, In Tarnetar Fair if any girl stop by and begins a close talk with her chosen guy that ultimately hints that she is very much interested in marrying him.

2) Sindhu Darshan Festival
Sindhu Darshan Festival is a festival of India held every year on full moon day (on Guru Purnima) in June. It is held at Leh, in Ladakh District of Jammu & Kashmir. It stretches for three days. It was first started in the October, 1997 and continues to be held every year since then, attracting large number of foreign and domestic tourists. The Sindhu Darshan Festival is a celebration of River Sindhu, also known as the Indus Valley Civilisation. The main reason behind the celebration of Sindhu Darshan Festival is to endorse the Indus River (Sindhu River) as an icon of the communal harmony and unity of India. The Bollywood film Dil Se was shot during the first Sindhi Darshan Festival.
