Day 01: Arrive Kolkata (previously known as Calcutta)
Upon arrival in Kolkata International Airport, meet The India Tourism tour representative for assisted transfer to the hotel. Kolkata is the favoured entry point to the Eastern India, especially Darjeeling and other North Eastern cities. The city has a colonial charm and is a bustling metropolis. Overnight in Kolkata.
Day 02: Kolkata Sightseeing – Darjeeling
Breakfast at the hotel and continue the enriching sightseeing tour of Kolkata. Visit the symbol of Kolkata, the Victoria Memorial, Howrah Bridge, Fort William and the Eden Gardens cricket stadium. Evening after dinner, transfer to the Railway Station and board connecting train # 2343 Darjeeling Mail dep. 22:05 hrs. Overnight on board.
Day 03: Darjeeling
Arrive New Jalpaiguri Railway Station at 08:00 hrs. Wait for an hour to participate in one of the exciting and romantic journey every couple wants, i.e. sitting in a Toy Train. Also a renowned world heritage site under Mountain Railways of India, Darjeeling Himalayan Train also allows the honeymooners to romance and feel bestowed with the beauty and the brilliance of nature. Board the train at 09:00 hrs and arr. 16:15 hrs at Darjeeling. Darjeeling was a favoured summer retreat of the British and also one of the popular hill stations of the North East India. Upon reaching in Darjeeling, check into your honeymoon suite and cherish the actual beginning of your honeymoon here. Overnight in Darjeeling.
Day 04: In Darjeeling
Wake up early for an excursion to Tiger Hill and witness the first ray of sun falling on you as nature’s blessing during sunrise. Return to the hotel for breakfast and later begin scouting the Darjeeling town by visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Zoological Park, Tibetan Refuge Center, Tenzing Rock, Gomby Rock, Tibet Handicraft Centre and the fragrant Tea gardens. Overnight in Darjeeling.
Day 05: Darjeeling – Gangtok
After breakfast, check out delightful Darjeeling and continue by road to Gangtok (the capital of Sikkim) (98 kms / 4 hrs). Upon arrival in Gangtok, check in to the pre-booked honeymoon suite. Day is free for leisure. Overnight in Gangtok.
Day 06: Gangtok
After breakfast, begin scouting Gangtok by visiting Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, the research center for Tibetan Buddhism. Next stopover is Directorate of Handicrafts and handlooms where you can purchase some souvenirs for your loved one. Seek some spiritual blessings by visiting shrines like Enchey Monastery, Do Drul Chorten (Stupa) and Rumtek Monastery. Overnight at Gangtok.
Day 07: Gangtok – Kalimpong
After breakfast, check out Kalimpong by road (83 ms / 3 hrs). This is another favoured natural retreat for a couple in honeymoon. A small and quiet hill resort bestowed with a variety of orchids and other natural wonders, Kalimpong offers a rich and unique experience to a couple. On arrival in Kalimpong, check into the Hotel for overnight stay.
Day 08 : In Kalimpong
After breakfast, continue a sight-seeing tour of Kalimpong with a visit to Dr. Graham's Home. It started as a home for orphans and other deprived children in 1900 by a Scottish missionary and his wife. Now, it has been converted into a boarding school of repute. Also, visit the Thapa Choling monastery and Thongsa monastery. Next in the day is the visit to Durpin Dara for a breathtaking view of the plains rolling down to Siliguri. Overnight in Kalimpong.
Day 09: Kalimpong – New Jalpaiguri – Kolkata
Morning is free for leisure. In the afternoon, transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (80 kms / 3 hrs) and board the connecting train # 2344 Darjeeling Mail dep. 20:00 hrs. Overnight on board.
Day 10 : Kolkata – Onward destination
Arrive Kolkata at 06:00 hrs. Transfer to International airport to connect flight for onward destination.
