Day 1 : BANGALORE – COORG
On Arrival at Bangalore airport, meet assistance by our executive and onward you will drive to Coorg – so called the Scotland of South India. Enroute visit the “Namdroling Monastry Bylakuppe” – one of the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. [visit at monastery subject to permission]. Post visit proceed to Coorg and check in to hotel of stay. (Overnight at hotel in Coorg)
Day 2 : IN COORG / SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast proceed for a full day sightseeing tour of Coorg visiting places of interest such “Dubbare Elephant Camp” - This camp has plenty of elephants which are trained under naturalist. A trained Naturalist is at hand to explain the various aspects of Elephant history, ecology and biology. The visitor can not only observe and learn but also participate in various activities involving Elephants. “Abbey Falls” - one of the most amazing attractions in the Coorg. The picturesque view of the falls is breathtaking. “Raja’s seat” - is a seasonal garden of flowers and fountains. “Omkareshwara temple” - dedicated to God Shiva. It is one of the 12 revered Jyotirlinga shrines of Shiva. “Madikkeri fort & museum” - a historical landmark of Coorg. The fort was constructed in the later part of the 17th century by Muddu Raja, the then king of Coorg. It is a unique fort that houses among other structures a temple, an Anglican Church, a prison and a museum. Later in the evening return to hotel of stay. (Overnight at hotel in Coorg).
Day 3 : COORG - WAYNAD (200 KMS/6.0HRS)
Check out from hotel after breakfast and drive to Wayanad – a famous north Kerala destination on the majestic Western Ghats with altitudes ranging from 700 to 2100 Meters above mean sea level. The etymology of the word Wayanad is Vayal (paddy) Naad (land) making the name as \'Land of Paddy Fields\'. Enroute visit ‘Edakkal Caves’ - a cleft about 96ft long and 22ft wide in the rock\', contains interesting carvings, which represent human and animal figures and objects of human use and symbols. These carvings speak of a highly-civilized people of pre-historic age. Later proceed to check in to hotel of stay. (Overnight at hotel in Waynad).
Day 4 : IN WAYNAD / SIGHTSEEING
Breakfast at residing hotel and onward for sightseeing tour visiting places of interest such as, Banasura sagar Dam – the largest earthen dam in India. Pookot Lake – beautiful natural fresh water lake, Soochippara waterfalls – also known as Sentinel water falls, it is one of the largest water falls of this area. Later in the evening visit “Muthanga wild life sanctuary” – one of the most famous wild life sanctuaries of Kerala. A jeep drive arranged by forest department takes you to visit this famous sanctuary. The park houses one of the most elephant populations of this region. The park is spread over 345 sq km in area which is rich with fauna and flora, and comes under Project Elephant. Various species of deer, monkeys, birds etc. too live in here. The trees and plants in the sanctuary are typical of the south Indian moist deciduous forests and west coast semi evergreen forests. Post visits return to hotel of stay. Day 5 : WAYANAD TO OOTY
Check out from hotel after breakfast and drive to Ooty (Uthagamadalam) – also known as Nigiris. On arrival at Ooty check in into the hotel and after refreshing, proceed for the sightseeing tour visiting places of interest such as the Botanical garden - spread over a huge area of 22 hectares and with more than 650 species of flowers and trees is a horticulturist’s delight. The highlight of this garden is a fossil tree believed to be 20 million years old. The Doddabetta peak - at an altitude of 8606 feet is the highest point of South India. It provides stunning views of this hilly region. The Rose Garden - located in the prime part of Ooty, spread across in around 10acres of area, it is one of the largest gardens of its kind in India. The Wax museum in Ooty is also an interesting spot to visit. Wind up your day at the Ooty lake where in you can indulge in many activities like Boating, Cycling around the lake, Joy ride on Horse etc. Post visits return to hotel. (Overnight at hotel in Ooty)
Day 6 : IN OOTY / SIGHTSEEING OF COONOOR
After breakfast, proceed to Coonoor by the famous TOY TRAIN (ticket subject to availability) for a short and beautiful ride from Ooty to Coonoor (ride time approx. 1.15Hrs). Upon reaching coonoor, our chauffeur will pick you from railway station and continue for sightseeing of Coonoor visiting places of Interest such as the Sim’s park – yet another beautiful botanical garden which is home to a variety of unusual species of plants from different parts of the world. Lamb’s rock – gives you a spectacular view of the lush forest and the beautiful hills side, thus making this place an excellent picnic spot too. The Dolphin’s Nose – is another stunning viewpoint which is more than 1000 feet above sea level. The name is derived due the unique rock formation of the peak resembling a dolphin’s nose. Post visits in Coonoor, return back to Ooty. (Overnight at hotel in Ooty)
Day 7 : DEPARTURE TO COIMBATORE
Breakfast at residing hotel. Check out from hotel (as per hotel check out norms) and the tour ends today with a departure transfer to Coimbatore.
