Rajim Tourism

Rajim falls in the Chhattishgarh in the district of Gariaband. The place is site of pilgrimage and is the meeting of rivers like Mahanadi, Pairi and Sondhul. The place takes a distance of thirty to forty-five minutes’ distance from Raipur. The place was once a center of urban society but soon it was transformed to a pilgrimage site.
The Rajivalochana Temple is one of the most attractive place which is dedicated to the Hindu god, Lord Vishnu. The place contains many temples of ancient marks like those of Kuleshwara Mahadeva Temple, Rajimatelin, Ramachandra temple, Kaal-Bhairav, Jagannath temple and Brahmacharya ashram and many more. Rajim is famous for its rich cultural heritage and the beautiful ancient temples. The holy confluence of three rivers Mahanadi (Chitrotpala), Pairi and Sondur, called Triveni Sangam is at Rajim. Rajim is also known as the “Prayag” of the Chhattisgarh.

The union of the three rivers, namely the Mahanadi, Pairi and Sondur, is called the Triveni Sangam and this is known to be a holy place. The town of Rajim also has many historical monuments that are worth paying a visit to. Evidence states that prominent historians, such as J D Beglar and Alexander Cunningham, visited Rajim and have given elaborate descriptions about the town in their works.
